Education Fund

A number of people have inquired about a Rick Farmer Memorial Fund or Education Fund for the boys. To that end, an account has been setup at Zions First National Bank to receive donations on behalf of the family. Please consider a donation to this fund in lieu of flowers. This fund has been created to support the long-term education goals of Rick's four children. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Sunday, Nov 7th

My dear husband Rick, gave life to 4-6 other people today. As we all know Rick, he would've been all over organ donation and had told me several times to wait until I knew there was nothing at all the docs could do and then consent. As time went by, we all knew nothing else could be done. My love had left. I could not be in the OR, but a nurse came straight out to me once his heart had stopped. This happened at about 4:45 pm. My heat is in excruciating pain. I will moss him like probably no one else can begin to comprehend. My boys are my main concern now. They have a road ahead of them. especially since Rick was so involved with their lives - on an individual basis and family basis as well. I am happy Rick has touched so many of your lives. he will be missed. 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1....FAMILY

Saturday, November 6th

I'm heading to my boys football playoff games today. Gregory 10:30 @ Elkridge Middle School and Kyle 1:30 at the Herriman Fields. They've had quite the traumatic week, so don't know what will happen there...I will not be at the hospital today, so unless they call me things are still the same.




Rick was supposed to go to the Utah vs. TCU game today with his good friend Scott Boatwright. If you have ever seen or heard Rick at Ute games he is loud, crazy, at times what I would call obnoxious, but also fun as hell. I need you all if your at the game or not, to cheer loudly for the U. GO UTES!!!

This was our last family picture and last family vacation....

I'm sorry to say there is nothing more to post. Casey went to visit Rick in the hospital-that was interesting. I promise there will be more information soon. A little more patience. Oh, and this is Susan. I forgot I was on Rick's facebook. I was trying to figure out any more of his friends that should be invited to the group. If anyone knows please comment under this so I can take care of it. Hope not many of you go into shock with his name at the top!!! (came from Rick's Facebook profile)

Friday, November 5th

From Susan on Friday:
Heading to the hospital to spend the day at his bedside. No more waiting room for me :):) I'll let you know if anything is different....





Friday Evening:


Back from the hospital. Same old except that his brain is continually getting worse. Sorry I cannot give better news.

Rick in Powell this summer. His love was boating. Being able to get out there wakeboarding, skiing, bananaing, whatever. Rick loved the water.

We were driving back to the dock in the boat in a huge rainstorm. Where ever we went, we always had an adventure with Rick :)


Thursday, November 4th

From Susan on Thursday:
Myself, Brandon, Gregory, Kyle, Casey and most importantly Rick, thank you all for the caring, concern, prayers, etc. At the moment I am feeling strong... just woke up though so I doubt that will stick around !!! Rick is the most amazing man I know. I love him deeply and also pray for a full recovery. Hugs and kisses to all... Susan



I would love you to post funny stories you remember about him. He is hilarious and crazy to hang with...most of you know that. Myself and the boys would apprecitate anyting at this time in our life...Susan (if you don't Facebook, please email them to holidaz@yahoo.com)

I apologize I do not post more news about Rick. Frankly there is no new news. He is still the same. The doctors believe his brain is starting to unswell (if that is a word). I'm still hoping.....

Monday morning, Rick was out running and collapsed. His neighbor found him and started CPR and called for help. He spent some time at Riverton Hospital and eventually was transferred to IMC where he is now in ICU.
The doctor explained the heart issue as an "electrical problem". Rick was without oxygen for a number of minutes and the doctors are doing all they can for him. We will keep you updated as soon as any more news comes available. Keep Rick and his family in your prayers.
